Breadboard

A redstone debugger built into the server. It shows what the game is doing; it does not change how redstone works.

The three tools

/bb tools puts all three on your hotbar. Nothing of yours is lost: if the hotbar is full, what was there moves into your inventory.

Probe

Reads any block: its power level, strong or weak power, quasi-connectivity, what it powers and what it updates.

Recorder

Selects a box, records the circuit inside it, and replays it one step at a time - only for you.

Truth Tester

Marks inputs and outputs and builds the truth table, naming the gate when it is a standard one.

/bb on its own opens the menu. /bb menu dialog | inventory | auto picks the kind of menu you get, and it is remembered.

Probe & Scope

Look at a block with the Probe to read it. The Scope is a four-channel oscilloscope on a map:

CommandWhat it does
/bb scopePuts the Scope map on your hotbar
/bb scope addAdds the block you look at as a channel (up to 4). Left-click with the Probe does the same.
/bb scope holdFreezes the trace or sets it running again. Right-click with the Probe does the same.
/bb scope clearRemoves every channel
/bb scope from-recordingDraws the channels from your last recording, so trace and replay match
/bb unlockReleases every block the Probe has locked onto

Recorder & replay

  1. Mark the box: left-click a corner with the Recorder (/bb pos1), right-click the opposite corner (/bb pos2). A box can hold up to 16,384 blocks.
  2. Arm it with /bb record. Recording starts at the first change inside the box. Add physics to record block updates too.
  3. Run your circuit. /bb stop ends the recording (or cancels an armed one).
  4. /bb replay plays it back step by step, only for you - the world is untouched. Step with /bb next (or right-click with the Recorder) and /bb prev; leave with /bb exit.

/bb recording [page] shows the recording as text. If several people are recording at once and the server is at its limit, you are told the recorder is busy - try again in a moment.

Truth Tester

CommandWhat it does
/bb truth inputMarks the block you look at as an input (A-D). Left-click with the Truth Tester does the same.
/bb truth outputMarks it as an output (X-Z). Right-click does the same.
/bb truth showThe table in chat. Names the gate if it is a standard one, otherwise says which rows are still missing.
/bb truth clearClears the marks and the table

Component library

A shelf of ready-made circuits - adders, dividers, memory, displays and more - you can place on your plot.

CommandWhat it does
/bb component listEvery component, shelf by shelf
/bb component place [what]Starts placing: a name, a shelf, or everything from the first
/bb component undoTakes back your last placement; again for the one before
/bb component save <name> [group/category] [what it is]Saves the box you marked with the Recorder as your own component

Placing is shared fairly: big components go in a little at a time, so the server stays smooth for everyone. Very large builds take longer to place, not longer to load the server.

Item supply & drain

Test item sorters without filling chests by hand. /bb items marker gives you a marker block:

  • Marker on top of a hopper = a supply. Right-click it and put in the item to feed; the hopper is kept topped up with it.
  • A hopper pointing into a marker = a drain: a bottomless chest that counts the items it receives.

The marker's colour names the channel. /bb items shows the rates.

Camera mode

/c switches to spectator right where you stand, to look inside a build. /s brings you back to the same spot and game mode.

More help

/bb commands lists every command by group, with what each does. /bb manual gives you the whole guide as a book.
