Survival

Design it in creative, build it for real in survival. Your base grows only up, until you buy the next chunk.

Opening soon. Survival is being tested now. Numbers on this page are the current settings and may still change before launch.

How it fits together

Survival is a second server on the same address as C3 Redstone. You switch between creative and survival in game; there is nothing new to add to your server list.

  • Your base is a world of its own: safe, private, and yours. Farms, storage and builds live here.
  • The resource worlds (Overworld, Nether, End) are where you mine, fight and explore, then carry the haul home.
  • Creative is where you design. A build saved there as a blueprint can be built in survival by paying its real blocks.
  • Commands work from either server: /spawn on survival takes you to the creative hub, and /base on creative takes you to your base.

Your base

Everyone starts with one chunk: a 16×16 column from the bottom of the world to the build limit, on a few layers of dirt over the void. You build up.

  • Only you, and players you trust, can build or open things in your base. Nobody can grief it.
  • Every base is its own world, so your farms never share villagers, mob caps or loaded chunks with a neighbour. Farm rates are what you would get in singleplayer.
  • Farms run while someone is in the base. About 15 minutes after the last player leaves, the base is saved and stops, just like singleplayer when you walk away.
  • There is no Nether portal from a base. Nether farms are built in the real Nether.
  • Fall off the edge and you are put back on top - nothing lost.
  • /base settings (or click a chunk on the map) sets the biome and turns mob spawning on or off, chunk by chunk.
  • /base sethome sets where /base brings you.

More chunks

/base map shows your chunks and the ones next to them. Pick the neighbouring chunk you want and pay for it.

ChunkPrice
Your firstFree
Second$1,000,000
Third$1,500,000
Fourth$2,250,000
Each one after1.5 times the one before

The world border is always a square one chunk wider than your land on every side, so you can see out but build only on chunks you own.

Teams & visitors

WhatCommand
Let a friend build in your base/base trust <player> (and untrust)
Invite someone to join your team/base invite <player>
Accept an invite/base join <player>
Leave a team/base leave
Remove a member/base kick <player>
Visit someone's base/base visit <player>
Fly through a base as a spectator/view <player>; /view again to go back

Leaving a team never loses your work: the chunks you brought go with you, builds and all, into a base of your own.

/view lets you look around someone's base without touching anything, and puts you back exactly where you were. Spectators can see into chests, so every owner can switch it off with /base view off or in /base settings.

Blueprints & supply crates

This is what makes C3 survival different: design a build on your creative plot with every tool there, then build it in survival by supplying the real blocks.

  1. On creative, save your build as a blueprint with Breadboard. Your blueprints are private: only you can use them.
  2. On survival, open the menu, go to Blueprints and pick one. You get a supply crate; place it anywhere in your base.
  3. Open the crate to see the bill of materials: what is needed, what is in, what is missing, across as many pages as it takes. It only accepts what the build still needs and hands the rest back.
  4. Anyone trusted on your base can fill it, so team builds go faster.
  5. When everything is in, the crate turns green. Choose where the build goes and which way it faces, and it is placed, with its progress shown in a boss bar. While it builds you can fly, and you finish on top of your island.
  • You can have up to 3 crates at once. A crate stays in your base: it cannot be dropped or placed anywhere else, or sold on the market.
  • A build is placed only inside chunks you own.
  • With the server's resource pack the crate looks like a blueprint chest; without it, it is a plain concrete block that turns lime when full. Bedrock players see the chest automatically.
  • Cancel at any time and your materials come back.
  • Containers in a blueprint are placed empty. Water and lava cost a bucket.
  • Builds are placed only into air, so they never overwrite what you have.

Resource worlds

/rtp opens a menu; /rtp overworld, /rtp nether or /rtp end go straight there. You land on a random safe spot at least 1,000 blocks from spawn. During a world event, /rtp event drops you within 250 blocks of it.

WorldRandom teleport reaches
OverworldUp to 10,000 blocks out
NetherUp to 1,250 blocks out
The EndUp to 5,000 blocks out, once the dragon has been killed
  • PvP is on in the resource worlds. Your base is the safe place.
  • Hitting or being hit by another player puts you in combat: a timer shows above your hotbar, 5 seconds a hit, up to a minute. Logging out while in combat kills you, and your items, armour and XP drop where you stood. You also cannot switch servers until the timer runs out.
  • A 5-second countdown runs before you go: stand still and do not get hurt, or it is cancelled (and you can try again straight away).
  • You cannot /rtp while you are fighting another player, and you can random teleport once a minute.
  • The resource worlds are reset from time to time with fresh terrain. Keep anything you care about at your base.

Money & selling

Survival has money (creative does not). You start with $0 and earn it by selling what you farm, mine and loot.

  • /sell opens a sell menu; /sell hand sells what you are holding, /sell all everything in your inventory that sells.
  • /worth shows what the item in your hand sells for.
  • Sell chests: put a wall sign reading [Sell] on a chest or barrel in your base and everything that flows in is sold straight away, for whoever placed the sign. The money arrives after the server's next world save, about 5 to 10 minutes later. Point a farm at it and stop hoarding.
  • /balance, /pay <player> <amount> and /baltop do what you expect.

Only plain items sell: nothing renamed, enchanted, damaged or with lore. Items villagers sell (and emeralds) do not sell, so trading halls cannot print money.

A few pricesEach
Sea pickle$1.70
Sugar cane$50
Pumpkin$100
Gunpowder$80
Blaze rod$150
Iron ingot$200
Gold ingot$500
Ghast tear$1,000
Diamond$5,000

Prices are balanced so a good farm, or an hour of mining, earns roughly the same: around $100,000 to $200,000 an hour. /worth in game is always the current price.

The market

/market opens the auction house, buy orders and your mailbox.

  • Auction house: /ah sell <price> lists the stack in your hand; /ah browses, /ah <search words> searches. Up to 10 listings at once; unsold items come back to your mailbox after 48 hours.
  • Buy orders: ask for items and other players fill them. /orders create lets you pick the item from a list, then how many and the price each. The money is taken when you place the order and refunded if you cancel or it expires after 7 days. Up to 10 open orders, 10,000 items each. Orders are filled with plain items only (nothing enchanted, renamed or damaged), and items you cannot get in survival cannot be ordered.
  • Nothing is ever dropped on the ground: whatever does not fit in your inventory waits in your mailbox in /market, and you are reminded when you join.

Spawners

Spawners are never sold. Find one in the resource worlds and take it home.

  • Mine a spawner with a silk touch pickaxe. Without silk touch it does not break at all, so you never lose one by accident.
  • Place it in your base and it spawns real mobs, like a vanilla spawner.
  • Stack them: right-click a placed spawner with more of the same type (sneak to add everything you hold), up to 64 in one block. More spawners spawn more mobs at once (up to 16 per spawn, reached at 4 stacked), then spawn faster: 64 stacked spawn every 0.6 to 2.5 seconds. No more than 16 of a stack's mobs stand around it at once.
  • Right-click a spawner you placed with an empty hand to switch it on or off. Natural spawners cannot be switched off. Mining a stack gives you the whole stack back.
  • Explosions never destroy spawners.

World events

Every so often an event starts somewhere in the resource Overworld, 300 to 2,000 blocks from spawn. /event tells you what is on now, or when the next one starts, and /rtp event takes you close.

EventHow to winReward
Buried treasureYou get a hint within 40 blocks; the closer you get, the warmer you are told you are. First to open the chest wins.$250,000 plus loot: diamonds, gold, golden apples, with a small chance of netherite scrap or an enchanted golden apple
BossA tough named mob with 400 health that hits twice as hard. The killing blow wins.$500,000 plus loot, with a chance of a totem of undying

An event lasts up to an hour; the next one starts about 20 minutes after the last one ends. PvP is on, so expect company.

Waypoints

Found a reef you will come back to? Save it. Waypoints work in the resource worlds; your base has /base.

  • /gps set <name> saves where you stand, /gps <name> takes you back, /gps lists yours. /home opens your waypoints too (it does not go to your base - that is /base).
  • You always arrive somewhere safe: never inside blocks and never above a drop.
  • 5 waypoints each. Stand still for 3 seconds before you travel, then wait 30 seconds before the next trip.
